唐邢窯白釉花口碗

五瓣花口式,敞口,斜弧壁,淺圈足,碗輪製成器,外壁車痕寥寥,從口至足牆內凹五道,形成花口,內底低陷呈圓形,碗身光滑無飾,釉面白中閃黃,光澤靜謐潤透,外壁釉汁垂墜,口沿輕薄,俯瞰此碗,花口線條飽滿酣暢,勻稱規整,猶如春日梨花,給人以恬靜盈巧之感,其胎骨細白堅實,透水率低,作為日用器具與同期其他窯口相較更耐磨損,該期的邢窯已達到「天下無貴賤通用之」的普及程度,其窯火之盛,出產了最為精良的邢窯細白瓷,由本品可窺之一二。

This elegantly potted bowl exhibits a gently flaring mouth with five distinct lobes forming a graceful floral outline, reminiscent of a plum blossom. The curved, sloping walls rest upon a shallow ring foot, shaped by wheel-throwing technique with minimal turning marks evident on the exterior. Five subtle inward indentations extend from rim to foot, accentuating the floral shape. The bowl's interior features a delicately recessed circular base, while its smooth surface remains undecorated, emphasizing the purity and refinement of its form.
The glaze, characterized by a tranquil sheen and subtle yellowish-white hue, cascades gently down the outer walls, enhancing its serene appearance. The thin rim complements the bowl's overall delicacy. Viewed from above, the evenly shaped lobes suggest the elegant outline of spring pear blossoms, embodying a sense of tranquil charm and sophisticated craftsmanship.
Xing ware of this period was renowned for its fine, dense white body, offering low porosity and exceptional durability. As practical daily-use wares, Xing ceramics achieved widespread popularity, reflecting the notion of accessibility captured in contemporary records describing them as suitable for “universal use without distinction of status.” This particular bowl exemplifies the refinement and aesthetic ideals achieved by Xing kilns at their peak.
