金,高13.5釐米,長25.5釐米,寬21釐米。


枕呈腰圓形,枕面下凹,前低後高。外壁施白釉,釉色白中泛灰。底部隨意塗抹薄釉,露胎處可見胎呈淺黃色,質地稍粗。枕面剔刻草葉紋,枕壁剔刻卷草紋,紋飾呈淺黃色。從製作工藝看,系先在胎上施一層化妝土,刻划紋飾輪廓,然後將輪廓線以內部分的化妝土剔除,形成白地淺褐色花紋,最後施一層透明釉。


瓷枕可分為生活實用器和隨葬冥器兩大類,品種有低溫釉陶和高溫釉瓷器兩大類。始見於隋,唐代至元代南北方各窯場普遍燒造。宋、金時代陶瓷枕的造型最為豐富,有長方形、腰圓形、雲頭形、花瓣形、雞心形、六角形、八方形、銀錠形等式樣。

This white-glazed sgraffiato pillow from the Ding kilns dates to the Jin dynasty. It measures 13.5 cm in height, 25.5 cm in length, and 21 cm in width.


The pillow is of waisted oval form, with a slightly concave top surface, lower at the front and rising toward the back. The outer surface is covered in a white glaze with a faint grayish hue. The base is coated unevenly with a thin layer of glaze, leaving some areas of the pale yellowish clay body exposed; the clay is relatively coarse in texture. The top surface is incised with a leaf pattern, while the sides are decorated with incised scrollwork. The motifs appear in a light yellow tone.


Technically, the decoration was executed by first applying a layer of white slip (engobe) to the surface of the body. The outlines of the design were incised, and then the areas within the outlines were carved away to expose the underlying clay body. A layer of clear glaze was then applied over the surface. This technique produces a decorative effect of pale brown motifs on a white background.


Ceramic pillows can be classified into two major types: those for daily use and those made for burial as funerary objects. They were made in both low-fired glazed pottery and high-fired porcelain. Originating in the Sui dynasty, such pillows became widespread in both northern and southern kilns from the Tang through the Yuan dynasties. During the Song and Jin periods, ceramic pillows were made in a wide range of forms, including rectangular, waisted oval, ruyi-head, petal-shaped, heart-shaped, hexagonal, octagonal, and sycee (silver ingot) forms.

この作品は金代に制作された定窯の白釉剔花陶枕である。高さ13.5センチ、長さ25.5センチ、幅21センチ。


枕は腰のくびれた楕円形を呈し、枕面は中央が凹み、前方が低く後方が高くなっている。外面には白釉が施され、釉調はやや灰みを帯びた白色。底部は透明釉がラフに塗られており、胎土の一部が露出して淡黄色を呈し、やや粗い質感が見られる。枕面には草葉文、側面には巻草文が剔花技法により施され、模様部分は淡黄色を呈している。


その技法は、まず胎土の上に白化粧土を施し、図様の輪郭を刻線し、その内部の化粧土を彫り取ることで模様を浮かび上がらせるというものである。その後、全体に透明釉を掛けて焼成することで、白地に淡褐色の文様が浮かび上がる剔花装飾が完成する。


陶製枕は生活用具として用いられたものと、副葬用の明器とに大別され、低火度の鉛釉陶と高火度の磁器といった材質の違いがある。陶枕は隋代に登場し、唐から元代にかけて南北の各窯場で広く生産された。宋·金時代には造形が最も多様化し、長方形、腰円形、雲形、花弁形、鶏心形、六角形、八角形、銀錠形など多彩な形状が見られる。
