The Wakisaka Clan (Wakisaka-shi / Wakizaka-shi) was a Japanese samurai family that later became part of the kazoku peerage. Its founder, Wakisaka Yasuharu, rose to prominence as one of the Seven Spears of Shizugatake, gaining recognition under Toyotomi Hideyoshi and eventually rising to the rank of daimyo.
Although initially aligned with the Western Army during the Battle of Sekigahara, the Wakisaka clan secretly conspired with the Eastern Army along with the Kobayakawa clan. Despite foreseeing this betrayal, Ōtani Yoshitsugu of the Western Army was unable to stop their overwhelming forces, leading to a swift and decisive victory for the Eastern Army within a single day.
During the Edo period, the clan continued as the ruling family of the Tatsuno Domain in Harima Province. After the Meiji Restoration, the family was elevated to the rank of viscount (shishaku) in the kazoku nobility system.
