Phoenix-Head Ewer With Three-Colour Glaze (Sancai)
The piece comes from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Takakichi Aso, parents of Japan’s 92nd Prime Minister, Taro Aso. This type of Tang sancai ware is exceedingly rare—an epitome of Tang sancai at its finest—and only a handful of such examples are known to exist worldwide.
