青銅筆記 vol.31 吳大澂:商代青銅「融父」爵 - Wu Dacheng, A Bronze Jue Incribed ‘Rong Fu’, Shang Dynasty

這件吳大澂舊藏商代連珠紋、魚鱗紋青銅爵不僅傳承顯赫,連珠紋加上鱗紋的搭配更是十分罕見。整體呈現清宮收藏的趣味和審美,多次出版。這件器物後來為日本收藏,從木箱的形制上看,應該是繭山龍泉堂的老木箱,真田鈕被後來藏家替換。
鱗紋是商代青銅器上比較典型的紋飾,多為大片出現,用作裝飾器物的打底紋飾,比如京都泉屋博古館收藏的兩件鴞尊,都有這類紋飾出現。但用在爵上搭配自夏代開始就流行的連珠紋,是比較罕見的。

另外有類似鱗紋的一種「方塊狀」的紋飾,也是商代比較罕見的紋飾,可以參考河南南陽市博物館藏的一例商代青銅爵。

This bronze jue wine vessel, formerly in the collection of Wu Dacheng, is distinguished not only by its illustrious provenance but also by the exceptionally rare combination of linked-bead (lianzhu) and fish-scale (yulin) motifs. The aesthetic sensibility of the piece reflects that of the Qing court collections, characterized by a refined taste for antiquities, and it has been published multiple times. The vessel later entered a Japanese collection; judging from the form of its wooden box, it appears to be an early example made by the Mayuyama Ryusendo gallery, though the Sanada-style cord knot seems to have been replaced by a later owner.
The fish-scale pattern is one of the characteristic decorative motifs of Shang bronzes, typically applied in large sections as a background design, as seen on the two owl-shaped zun vessels in the Sen-oku Hakuko Kan, Kyoto. However, its use on a jue in conjunction with the linked-bead motif—popular since the Xia period—is highly unusual.
A comparable, though distinct, “square-block” variant of the fish-scale pattern, also rare among Shang bronzes, may be referenced in an example of a Shang dynasty jue in the collection of the Nanyang Museum, Henan Province.

窄長流,尖尾,流折處有一對菌狀柱,深腹圜底,三棱錐足外撇,腹一側設獸首鋬。腹飾連珠紋和鱗紋鑲邊的饕餮紋帶。
鋬內鑄有兩字銘文:融父。

Condition
X光影像顯示,流嘴曾斷裂並經修復。其中一條足有多處細裂紋,另有兩條足在與器身相接處的上部各有兩個小孔,係由腐蝕所致。
The x-ray images reveal that the spout has been broken off and restored. One of the legs has several hairline cracks. Two legs have two small holes on the upper section where they join the body, which are caused by corrosion.

盒蓋內題職:
此器銘初見《積古齋鐘鼎彝器款識》,殆兩百年前也。其後不少金石書收其銘之摹拓,盡未載其器影矣。近年《殷周金文集成》據《三代吉金文存》採錄其名拓而以,不知其器形為殷或西周早期之器而已。然此器今忽然出現於扶桑東京古董商肆里,余驚喜躬摩挲此器,即覺此為殷人所作。故茲肇名殷□父己爵云爾。平成庚辰嘉平月(念)一日,武江松丸道雄職於天童樓金石書窟。
鈐印:道
吳大澂(1835-1902),字清卿,號恒軒,又別號愙齋,江蘇吳縣人。同治七年戊辰科進士,後為李鴻章幕僚,歷任陝甘學政、太僕寺卿、左副都禦使、廣東巡撫、河東河道總督、湖南巡撫,又曾赴朝鮮處理甲申事變、赴吉林勘定中俄邊界,為同治光緒朝名臣。吳大澂亦為晚清著名的金石學家和收藏家,長於繪畫,精于篆刻,著有《说文古籀补》、《愙斋集古录》、《恒轩所见所藏吉金录》、《古玉图考》,《權衡度量考》等書。
