Ceramic figurine of a child with a multicolored horse. The child embraces the horse in a playful stance. Brown, green, and blue hues.

The Tang tri-colored pottery rearing horse figurine is exceptionally rare. This miniature piece stands at a mere 13.7cm in height, making it particularly uncommon. Moreover, its color composition features not only the traditional yellow and green glazes, but also incorporates the highly prized cobalt blue glaze - a treasured rarity in Tang sancai works. The dynamic balance between the horse and its young groom attendant vividly captures the refined aesthetics of the Tang Empire, with the child figure's posture ingeniously maintaining both visual harmony and physical stability in the ceramic composition.
