耀州窯花瓶存世極爲罕見,這件MOA美術館的藏品觀察到瓶頸似乎有斷裂痕跡,但是由於此類同款極為稀少,亦然晉身頂級美術館收藏。參考另一件小山富士夫《宋磁》中收錄的同款,型態為水滴形,東洋文化中稱「雫」,此字為中文,但近代除了日本以外鮮有使用。


Yaozhou celadon vases are of extreme rarity. The present example in the MOA Museum of Art appears to show traces of fracture along the neck; nevertheless, owing to the exceptional scarcity of vessels of this type, it has rightly secured its place within a major museum collection. A comparable piece is illustrated in Fujio Koyama’s Song Ceramics, where the form is described as resembling a droplet of water. In East Asian cultural discourse this shape is often referred to as shizuku (“droplet”). While the written character is of Chinese origin, its usage in this specific sense has largely fallen out of practice in modern Chinese, surviving primarily in Japan.

此瓶為長頸造型,以含鐵量較高的灰白色磁質胎土燒製而成。除高台部分露胎外,通體施覆帶黃調的強透明橄欖綠青釉,釉下刻飾花卉唐草紋。高台周圍飾以蓮瓣紋,腹身大部分的唐草花紋則以鋒利的片切雕刻手法表現,並於要處加以櫛目刻線。刻紋深邃而伸展有力,釉藥積聚於紋線之間,形成濃重的陰影,進一步凸顯文樣,正是此類北方青瓷的獨特魅力。


此瓶屬於華北地區所燒製的北方青瓷之一,窯口分佈於河南、山西、山東等地。然其中器形與工藝尤為精良者,實際上源於陝西耀州窯,為北宋時期青瓷發展的先驅,且早於河南臨汝窯的製品。耀州窯遺例以鉢、盤、碗類居多,壺、瓶、枕等器種則極為罕見。本品作為耀州窯存世少見的大瓶,形制端正嚴謹,堪稱其中尤為優異的代表。

This long-necked vase is made from a greyish-white stoneware body containing a relatively high iron content. Except for the unglazed footring, the entire surface is coated with a strongly transparent olive-green celadon glaze tinged with yellow, beneath which the decoration is incised. Around the base runs a band of lotus petals, while most of the floral scrolls are rendered in sharp katakiribori (single-blade cutting), enhanced with comb incisions in key areas. The deeply carved and fluid motifs allow the glaze to pool within the recesses, creating rich tonal contrasts that accentuate the designs—an aesthetic characteristic distinctive to this type of northern celadon.


The vase belongs to the group of northern celadons produced across northern China, including kilns in Henan, Shanxi, and Shandong provinces. However, works of such refined craftsmanship were pioneered at the Yaozhou kilns in Shaanxi during the Northern Song period, preceding similar productions at the Linru kilns in Henan. Among surviving Yaozhou wares, bowls, dishes, and cups predominate, while vessels such as jars, vases, and ceramic pillows are exceedingly rare. This example, with its stately form typical of the Northern Song, stands out as one of the finest extant Yaozhou vases.

やや鉄分の多い灰白色の磁質の土を用いた長頸の瓶である。高台部分のみが露胎(ろたい)で、他は全面に黄みを帯びた透明性の強いオリーブ色の青磁釉をかけ、釉下に彫り文様を施している。高台回りに蓮弁文をめぐらすほか、大部分の花唐草が鋭い片切り彫りで表してあり、要所に櫛目を加えている。


彫りが深く、伸びやかで、彫り文様に溜った釉薬が表出する濃い陰影が文様をいっそう浮き立たせているところにこの種の青磁独特の魅力がある。河南‧山西‧山東地方など広く華北の窯で焼造した北方青磁の一つで、作行きが優れたこの種の青磁は、河南省の臨汝(りんじょ)窯などに先駆けて、北宋時代に陝西省の耀州窯で焼造された。遺品には鉢‧皿‧碗などの類が多く、壺‧瓶‧枕などの数はきわめて少ない。本図の瓶は類品の稀な耀州窯の作品中特に優れたものの一つとしてあげることができる。北宋期特有の端正な瓶の姿もよい。
