唐代三彩鍑是一個經典器型,哀皇后墓出土了一件黃釉三足鍑,可見早期這類器物受皇家關注並稱為禮儀中的一部分。不僅是唐三彩,其他材質上也有鍑這個器型。安思遠2015年紐約佳士得售出一件袖珍弄器豹斑石鍑;何家村窖藏有銀質三足鍑;哈佛大學藝術博物館藏有一件銅製三足鍑(響銅)。五島美術館藏的這件作品有特殊的貼塑六辦花。


The fu (鍑) is a classic vessel form of the Tang dynasty, particularly in the medium of sancai (three-color) ware. One notable example is a yellow-glazed tripod fu excavated from the tomb of Empress Ai, indicating that such vessels had gained imperial attention and were integrated into ceremonial practice from an early stage. Beyond the scope of Tang sancai, the fu form also appears in other materials: a miniature fu carved from leopard-spotted stone—likely a scholar's object—was sold at Christie’s New York in 2015 from the collection of Robert H. Ellsworth; the Hejia Village hoard yielded a silver tripod fu as well. The example in the Gotoh Museum is particularly noteworthy for its applied six-petaled floral design, rendered in molded relief.

所謂「唐三彩」,是中國唐代(約7世紀末至8世紀前半)流行的一種低溫鉛釉陶器,燒成溫度多在1100度以下,常見以褐、綠、白、藍等釉彩組合施釉,具有鮮麗絢爛的視覺效果。此類器物主要作為貴族墓葬的隨葬品而製。


本器為仿青銅三足釜形的陶質鍑,三隻獸形足強健有力,形制沉穩壯碩。器身周緣貼飾模印花紋,並以藍、綠、白等釉彩裝飾貼花部位,素地施褐釉,釉色對比鮮明,展現出唐三彩典型的裝飾風格與視覺層次。此器不僅為墓葬用明器,同時亦體現唐代對古銅禮器形式的再造與審美延續。

"Tang sancai" (literally “Tang three colors”) refers to lead-glazed earthenware produced primarily in the late 7th to early 8th century during the Tang dynasty. These ceramics, typically low-fired below 1100°C, are characterized by the use of two or more vibrant glazes—commonly amber, green, white, and occasionally blue. They were primarily produced as burial objects for the aristocracy.

This vessel, modeled after ancient bronze tripod cauldrons (fu), features three stout animal-form legs and a commanding silhouette. The body is decorated with applied floral medallions created using molds, over which sancai glazes in blue, green, and white have been carefully applied.


The unornamented surfaces are coated in amber glaze, creating a vivid contrast in both color and texture. The piece exemplifies the Tang dynasty’s reinterpretation of archaic ritual bronzes in ceramic form and reflects the opulent aesthetic of its funerary culture.

「唐三彩」は、中国唐時代の7世紀末期から8世紀前半にかけて、1100度より低い温度で焼成する、2種類以上の色釉を掛け分けて彩られた陶器。貴族の墓の副葬品と考えられている。後は、3足のついた青銅器の釜のこと。胴に型押しの花文を貼り付けている。地の部分に褐釉、花文の部分に藍‧緑‧白の三彩釉が掛かる。3本のがっしりとした獣足がつき、堂々とした作行を示す。
