中國南宋時代福建省茶洋窯的製品,這類傳世天目茶碗最早是在中國天目山的寺院中常用的器物,據傳鎌倉時代時,禪僧將其帶回日本,成為了最初的渡來器物。到了室町時代,該類茶碗被大量進口並廣泛用於茶道中,成為茶人們的愛用之物。

Rainbow Tenmoku Tea Bowl

This tea bowl was originally used in the temples of Mount Tianmu in China. It is said that Zen monks brought it to Japan during the Kamakura period, marking the beginning of its introduction. In the Muromachi period, numerous pieces were imported and became highly favored as tea bowls for the Japanese tea ceremony.

もとは中国・天目山の寺院で常用されていた器で、鎌倉時代に禅僧が持ち帰ったのが渡来の初めとされる。室町時代に多数輸入され、喫茶用の茶碗として愛用された。
