明十五世紀青花琴棋圖罐，高35公分，配日本木箱。來源壺中居，東京。2018–19年岡田美術館開館五周年展出，編號69（沒載圖）。蘇富比香港「岡田美術館藏亞洲藝術珍品（二）」專場，2026年9月4日，拍品2166，估價300,000–600,000港元。
品相：整體良好。釉面有剝痕及爆釉（最大約1公分）；近底部接胎線有橫向片紋，稍經膠水加固；罐身見窰線；口沿與器面有正常磨痕。大罐分段拉坯再接胎，接胎線開裂在這類器上並不少見，關鍵是有沒有沖線上身、是否影響畫面。
圖錄寫「十五世紀」，不寫年號。這類無款、高約35公分、腹部畫高士撫琴對弈的青花大罐，學界通常歸入明中期「空白期」（正統、景泰、天順，1436–1464）。宣德之後、成化之前，官窯年款一度中斷，景德鎮民窯大量燒造人物故事大罐、梅瓶，畫面多雲氣、樹石被風吹斜，日本舊稱「雲堂手」，英文稱 windswept style。題材是琴棋書畫四藝，或「攜琴訪友」一類高士出行。芝加哥藝術博物館一件十五世紀四藝圖罐高35.6公分，尺度幾乎一樣；上海博物館、倫敦V&A也有同時代男女高士四藝罐。

Good overall condition, with some glaze flakes/frits and burst bubbles (largest approx. 1cm). Minor typical firing imperfections, including crackles along the horizontal luting line above the base, lightly stabilised with glue; and occasional firing lines. Minor expected wear to the surface and rim.
整體品相良好。見些許釉面剝痕及爆釉（最大約1公分）。見正常窰燒瑕疵，包括近底部接胎線位置見橫向片紋，稍經加固，以及罐身見些許窰線。器面及口沿見正常磨痕。

Q1：為什麼不寫正統、景泰、天順？
空白期三朝幾乎不寫官款，窯址與傳世器只能靠器形、青料、畫風卡在宣德與成化之間。拍場用「十五世紀」是穩妥寫法，並不表示年代更早或更晚。
Q2：琴棋圖是什麼？
文人四藝：琴、棋、書、畫。罐上常見撫琴、對弈，有時加上攜琴訪友、書畫卷軸。這是明代中期人物罐最穩的題材之一，不是晚明戲曲故事罐。
Q3：和嘉靖款四藝罐怎麼比？
嘉靖有六字款、回青料、畫法更滿更程式。本件無款、體量更大、畫風偏空白期的疏朗與雲氣。兩者不是同一檔，價格也不能直接換算。
Q4：接胎線加固嚴重嗎？
大罐幾乎都是分段成型。橫向片紋停在接縫、膠水只做穩定，市場可以接受。若沖線穿過人物或口肩一圈，級別會掉一截。必須看實物。

Condition: good overall. Glaze flakes and burst bubbles (largest about 1 cm); crackles along the horizontal luting line above the base, lightly glue-stabilised; occasional firing lines; expected wear to surface and rim. Large guan jars were thrown in sections and joined; a luting crack is common. What matters is whether it stays in the seam or runs through the painting.
The catalogue says “15th century,” not a reign. Unmarked jars of this height, painted with scholars at the qin and at the chessboard, are the classic mid-Ming Interregnum group (Zhengtong, Jingtai, Tianshun, 1436–1464). After Xuande and before Chenghua, reign marks on official wares largely stop; Jingdezhen’s private kilns produced large narrative jars and meiping in the so-called windswept style—billowing clouds, trees bent by wind. The subject is the Four Arts (qin, qi, shu, hua) or the related theme of carrying a qin to visit a friend. The Art Institute of Chicago holds a 15th-century Four Accomplishments jar 35.6 cm high; the Shanghai Museum and the V&A hold male and female versions of the same generation.
About the Provenance
Kochukyo was founded in Tokyo in 1924 and has long dealt in East Asian ceramics. The Okada Museum of Art in Hakone showed this jar in its 2018–19 fifth-anniversary exhibition (unillustrated). The first Sotheby’s Okada sale (November 2025) sold all 125 lots; this jar is in the second sale, September 2026.
FAQ
Q1: Why not Zhengtong, Jingtai or Tianshun on the ticket?
The three Interregnum reigns almost never marked official wares. Dating rests on shape, cobalt and painting, between Xuande and Chenghua. “15th century” is the cautious auction formula.
Q2: What is the qin-and-chess subject?
The Four Arts of the scholar: zither, chess, calligraphy, painting. Jars of this group show musicians and players, sometimes a servant carrying a wrapped qin. It is a mid-Ming figural staple, not a late-Ming opera scene.
Q3: How does it compare with Jiajing marked Four Arts jars?
Jiajing examples carry a six-character mark, use Mohammedan blue, and paint more densely. This jar is unmarked, larger, and closer to the open, cloud-filled Interregnum manner. They are not the same tier.
Q4: How serious is the glued luting line?
Sectional throwing is normal on large guan. A horizontal crack stopped in the join and only stabilised is acceptable. A line through the figures or around the shoulder is not. See the object.
