Provenance from Sakamoto Goro, early aesthetic of incense burner, the production of multiple string patterns on the vessel is in the same vein as that of the Northern Dynasty stringed bottles and other wares. This is a beautifully crafted piece with a subtle curved finish, where the hardness of the stone is complemented by the softness of the lines.
The overall surface of the bottle is finely polished and therefore well encrusted, with traces of the inner workings similar to those of the broaching process, indicating the difficulty of production at the time.
The bottom of the bottle is stamped with the museum's collection mark. This is a potential item for the future as it has been overlooked due to the unfamiliarity of incense burning culture.
