從最初的無人問津，到最後一刻的激烈廝殺爭奪，這件哥窯瓷器從起拍價5萬元一路飆升至53.76萬元，最終以十倍估價落槌成交。哥窯歷來是明人最鍾愛的品種，甚至可以說，明代人幻想中的「宋代五大名窯」正是由他們所確立的。實際上，哥窯應是元代老虎洞窯（南宋官窯的直接繼承）所燒造的延續之作。

From complete obscurity at the outset to a ferocious bidding war in the final moments, this Ge kiln porcelain soared from a starting price of RMB 50,000 to RMB 537,600—selling at ten times its estimated value. Ge kiln has long been the most cherished variety among Ming dynasty collectors; one could even argue that the legendary “Five Great Kilns of the Song” as we know them today were largely a Ming-era invention. In reality, Ge kiln should be understood as a direct continuation of the Yuan dynasty Laohudong kiln, itself the heir to the Southern Song official kilns.
