拍賣筆記 vol.261 壶中居:商代青銅饕餮紋爵,铭「田」 ,40.64萬港元成交 - An Archaic Bronze Libation Vessel Jue, Shang Dynasty, Sold for HKD 406,400 / Ancient bronze vessel with ornate design next to a dark wooden plaque featuring vertical script. White background, historical ambiance.

Attributed to Luo Zhenyu and several other early collectors, with provenance traceable back to 1934. Acquired from Huzhongju around 1985. The tian (田) inscription is not uncommon, and the overall form is rather slender. Featuring protruding flanges and taotie motifs above a base decorated with yunleiwen (cloud-and-thunder) patterns, it was produced at Anyang during the late Shang dynasty. The price remains modest, but bronze jue of distinguished provenance still have significant potential for appreciation in value, depending on the importance of their inscriptions.
