This piece, known as the "Little Apple," has a relatively deep glaze color that doesn't fully resemble apple green, but this does not dampen the excitement of buyers competing at the auction. The piece features an elegant tension in its form, making it a highly favored type among Tang dynasty Sancai pottery. In recent years, there has been a growing consensus that Tang Sancai is a category poised for a significant market surge.
This piece was auctioned at Bonhams in London on November 7, 2024, fetching £32,000, equivalent to approximately HKD 320,000.
