拍賣筆記 vol.215 蘇富比紐約:北魏砂岩石雕佛像龕,57150美元售出 - Sotheby’s, Heirloom Jian Bowl with Lacquer Repair, Song Dynasty Ancient stone relief depicting a seated Buddha with followers, intricately carved figures, and inscriptions. The texture is detailed and worn.

A quintessential Northern Wei sandstone stele from Chang’an, closely comparable to examples in the Forest of Steles Museum. Formerly in the collection of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, it was previously believed to date to the 20th century, but is in fact of Northern Wei origin. Sold for USD 57,150 (approximately HKD 450,000). In recent years, sculptures of this type have become highly sensitive in the market due to their well-documented provenance, with several auction attempts halted as a result.
